Candy Canes Aren't Just For Christmas

Candy Canes aren't just for Christmas; when they were invented they were invented for other purposes, not for Christmas. They are some of the oldest sweets on the planet and were supposedly invented by a choirmaster to reduce the anxiety and restlessness of the kids in his choir way back in the 17th century. The Candy Canes we now associate with Christmas was an invention of the 20th century, with the addition of red stripes on white candy cane being the final evolvement.
Candy Canes aren't just for Christmas; they can be used for other events as well as a treat for any occasion. Kids love Christmas but will appreciate Candy Canes for their parties even if it is not the Christmas season. In reality, you are only limited by your imagination when it comes to the ways of using Candy Canes in your celebrations.
Candy Canes aren't just for Christmas and here are some of the ways of using Candy Canes other than placing them on your Christmas trees. First, you can crush them and use them to make the sweet treats for your celebration. Crushing them into a fine powder can be done with a blender from which you can then make sweets and cakes for a birthday party which will no doubt be very popular.
You can use it for other baked sweets as well. For those who do not have the time to crush Candy Canes and use them to bake cookies, cover the Candy Canes with chocolate and have the kids eat chocolate covered Candy Canes. Helping kids make large pieces of edible decorations for a birthday party is another way of using Candy Canes for occasions other than Christmas.
