It’s in us all to love the past and the things we loved when we were kids. Who does not remember the times when sweets were the only things that were on our minds? I love old fashioned sweets; they take me back to the sweet past when I was a child. I’m sure many people love old fashioned sweets just as much as I do while not necessarily for the same reason. Kids, for example, do not have anything to reminisce and will love retro sweets for the simple fact that they have a sweet tooth.
It's no secret, I love old fashioned sweets; the jars of chewy bars, hardboiled candies and other sweets of our times just do not cease to entice me every time I walk into a sweets shop. They still have the same old great taste they used to have. They are perfect for any party. I love the history of old fashioned sweets. Did you know that Ronald Reagan’s favourite sweets were Jelly Belly beans? Did you know that he used to serve them up during official meetings? He loved the Blueberry flavour.
Some old fashioned sweets come with their fair share of controversy like the Baby Ruth brand; it is denied to this day that they used the baseball legend Babe Ruth for leverage. Whatever the case, it remains a fact that I love old fashioned sweets.
